Many have had high success
fishing Tobin with walleye catches reaching a provincial
record of 18.06lbs in 1997, so it is no surprise the area is
popular with fishing tournaments. The largest of which, the
Vanity Cup, offers a prize payoff of over $100,000.00
yearly. These waters also play host to the Ladies Fish for
Freedom, a unique tournament that consists of all female
anglers. Other popular tournaments include the Nipawin
Northern Pike Festival and the Saskatchewan Premier’s
Walleye Cup.
